And you will know the Truth,
and the Truth will set you free.
John 8:32

People have told me that they can do something that they know they shouldn't be doing because they have been set free

They feel they have the right to act harshly to others and not in love....because they are free in Jesus.

Or they compromise in areas of their behavior, finances, relationships, work ethic, disciplines, etc etc etc...because they are have been set free in Jesus.

What does this do to our "reflection of Jesus" to the world around us?

Jesus didn't pay the price of our sin on the cross
so that we could have freedom to live out the desires of our flesh.

He died so that we could be set free from our own selfishness.

True freedom comes from living in the boundaries of truth.  Pure truth comes from God's Word.

Proverbs 1:5...  Ask for wisdom and get understanding so that we can walk in His truth.

Father, I ask that You would increase a hunger and thirst for Your Word in my life.  Help me to increase discipline in my life that I would carve out the time in my day to spend with You, just to be with You, love on You and listen to You so that I would grow in wisdom and understanding in Your Word. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Blessings on your day!

Thank you for this timely post! The message is one that we all need to hear. Yes, we are free in Jesus, but not free to do our own thing. We are followers/imitators of Christ. Let us imitate Him in all that we do and say!

Blessings to you!
