The Extraordinary Story of a Matronly Singing Sensation

Awkward, self-sacrificing woman with a dream blows the world away.

(United Kingdom)—I love great editorials. Follow the link provided at the end of this article, and you will read one of the best of the year.

If you haven't heard about Ms. Boyle yet, you are about to.

The matronly, 46-year-old choir singer recently blew her audience and talent judges away with her powerful, angelic voice, but not before first being openly ridiculed for her awkwardness and less-than glamorous looks.

Home's editorial hits straight to the heart of the matter; human nature's propensity to make fun of others, even for something as superficial as one's looks. While her opinion piece might cause us to reflect on our own fallibilities, it is at the same time an extraordinary tribute to a woman whose humility and self-sacrifice is being spotlighted for all the world to see.
